Work Study
The Work Study Program provides eligible students with part-time employment to help meet their educational expenses while providing valuable work experience. Positions with flexible work hours range from ten to twenty hours per week. Follow these steps for work study:
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit all documents requested by the Financial Aid Office.
After your FAFSA is processed, complete a Work Study application and turn in to the Financial Aid office in Student Affairs. A Financial Aid officer will determine your eligibility.
You must remain enrolled in at least one class as a matriculated student in an eligible program of study.
After a department requests to hire you, the Financial Aid Office will issue a work study contract. Both you and the supervisor must review and sign the work study contract. You must complete and sign payroll, I-9 and other required documents through the HR Office.
You will be issued a Self-Service account for recording your time worked. Your supervisor will approve your time each pay period.
Once your work study contract and all payroll and I-9 documents are completed, you may begin work in accordance with your work study contract.
Students must complete their timecard by the deadline each pay period. Students are paid every two weeks.
