Work Study

The Work Study Program provides eligible undergraduate and graduate students with part-time employment to help meet their educational expenses while providing valuable work experience.  Positions with flexible work hours range from ten to twenty hours per week.  Rate of pay is minimum wage.  Follow these steps for work study:

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit all documents requested by the Financial Aid Office.

  2. After your FAFSA file is processed, contact the Financial Aid Office to determine your eligibility status.

  3. Apply in person with the departments in which you are most interested in working.

  4. You must remain enrolled at least half-time for Federal Work Study.

  5. After a department requests to hire you, the Financial Aid Office will issue a work study contract.  Both you and the supervisor must review and sign the work study contract. You must complete and sign the W-4 and any other required documents in the HR Office.

  6. Payroll will issue your timecards.

  7. You can now begin working the hours scheduled by your supervisor in accordance with the signed work study contract.

  8. Fill out time card and sign it as requested by your supervisor.
