RN End of Program Student Learning Outcomes (EPSLOs)

At the time of graduation, the RN graduate will:

  1. Interpret research and implement evidence-based practice to provide holistic, high-quality nursing care that reflects uniqueness and dignity to patients, families, and communities. (ISLO – Critical Thinking; QSEN- EBP)

  2. Select effective communication strategies to prioritize and delegate care while interacting with patients, families, and interprofessional healthcare team members.  (ISLO - Professionalism and Communication; QSEN-T/C)

  3. Demonstrate patient-centered, culturally-competent, cost-effective care while adhering to legal and ethical guidelines. (ISLO-Critical Thinking; QSEN - PCC)

  4. Apply the knowledge of various forms of information management and patient care technology in a variety of healthcare settings that addresses legal, ethical, and emerging issues. (ISLO-Information Technology; QSEN-Informatics)

  5. Create a plan for quality improvement to enhance patient care and system outcomes. (ISLO-Critical Thinking; QSEN-QI)

  6. Apply the nursing process according to safety standards to effectively manage the care of individuals or groups of patients. (ISLO-Critical Thinking; QSEN-Safety)

  7. Model professional behaviors in personal appearance, punctuality, respect, integrity, responsibility, accountability, and leadership. (ISLO-Professionalism; QSEN – T/C)

  8. Evaluate client findings using clinical judgement to prioritize needs and develop a nursing plan of care. (ISLO- Critical Thinking, QSEN-Safety, PCC).
