PN End of Program Student Learning Outcomes (EPSLOs)

At the time of graduation, the PN graduate will:

  1. Implement evidence-based practice in providing holistic, high-quality nursing care for clients, families, and communities. (ISLO – Critical Thinking; QSEN- EBP)


  2. Utilize therapeutic communication strategies while collaborating with the client, families, and the healthcare team to prioritize and delegate client care. (ISLO - Professionalism and Communication; QSEN-T/C)


  3. Apply client-centered, culturally competent care while adhering to legal and ethical guidelines. (ISLO-Critical Thinking; QSEN - PCC)

  4. Utilize various forms of technology in the provision of client care in a variety of healthcare settings. (ISLO-Information Technology; QSEN-Informatics)

  5. Identify a plan for quality improvement to enhance client care and system outcomes. (ISLO-Critical Thinking; QSEN-QI)

  6. Implement the nursing process according to safety standards to effectively manage the care of individuals or groups of clients. (ISLO-Critical Thinking; QSEN-Safety)

  7. Demonstrate professional behaviors in personal appearance, punctuality, respect, integrity, responsibility, accountability, and leadership. (ISLO-Professionalism; QSEN – T/C)

  8. Interpret client findings using clinical judgement to prioritize client and family needs to carry out the nursing plan of care. (ISLO- Critical Thinking, QSEN-Safety, PCC).
