WAGE™ Level I Workforce Preparation Certificate (WPC)
Description:
The WAGE™ Level I Workforce Preparation Certificate (WPC) is designed to prepare adult learners with the essential soft skills needed in today’s workforce. The course is a self-paced hybrid course with a combination of in-class and online assignments. A Career Coach and an instructor work with participants to explore interests through a career assessment, apply employability skills that address competencies in applied knowledge, effective relationships, and workplace skills, and help transition into post-secondary education, training programs, or the workforce. Students gain skills in subjects including employability, digital literacy, financial literacy, and customer service. Completing the WAGE™ Level I Certificate gives participants the skills needed to attain and retain employment.
Objectives:
Students will demonstrate the ability to thoroughly explore career pathways and viable options for pathway selection based on interests, aptitude, and job market opportunities
Students will demonstrate skills in digital literacy.
Students will demonstrate employability skills.
Students will demonstrate skills in financial literacy.
Wage™ Level Ii
The WAGE™ Level II certificates are designed to support adult learners in choosing a career path within the 16 career clusters. Career clusters, based on high demand jobs, include:

Adult Education instructors provide contextualized learning that enables participants to improve academic skills while learning about a specific career path related to their interest. Learners have an opportunity to earn job industry certifications such as CPR and First Aid, Guest Services Gold, IC3 Digital Literacy, Forklift, National Career Readiness (NCRC), OSHA-10, ServSafe, and others related to a specific career cluster. Career Coaches assist participants in finding employment and/or enrolling in post-secondary education or training programs.
While Level II certificate programs contain basic requirements, they are locally designed to meet the needs of employers. Certificate programs are offered through a hybrid model with some components taking place in the classroom and others online with instructor facilitation.
Workplace Education
Workplace Education classes are provided according to an agreement between an employer and the local adult education provider. Instruction may be customized to the employer’s needs and often take place on the job site.
