MALVERN, AR -- At a Special Called Meeting of the College of the Ouachitas (COTO) Board of Trustees Tuesday night, the Board passed a motion to align with a university system. College President Dr. Steve Rook will begin gathering information on the University of Arkansas, Arkansas State University, and Southern Arkansas University systems to assist in selecting the system that best aides the College in carrying out its mission and vision. Dr. Rook is also authorized to enter into preliminary discussions on alignment/affiliation agreements.
The College Board of Trustees has publicly stated its desire to explore partnerships with other state institutions of higher education that express interest in working with the College. Aligning with a university system will provide administrative resources to allow the College to operate more efficiently and effectively and it will provide academic program and transfer opportunities which will be of benefit to College of the Ouachitas’ students.
