College of the Ouachitas Announces New Vice President for Finance and Operations
MALVERN, AR—College of the Ouachitas has named James White as the new Vice President for Finance and Operations. White has over twenty years of financial management experience in profit, non-profit, and higher education sectors.
“We are excited to have James joining the COTO/ASU Three Rivers family,” said COTO President, Dr. Steve Rook. “He brings a wealth of experience to the College during an important time in our history.”
White will assume the position on Dec. 1, 2019. He will succeed Vice President for Finance and Administration, David See, who will retire at the end of January. See has served in the position since July 2013. White’s title will become Vice Chancellor of Finance and Operations when the College officially becomes Arkansas State University Three Rivers on Jan. 1.
White, a 15-year Arkadelphia, Arkansas resident, currently serves as the Director of Finance for the Area Agency on Aging of West Central Arkansas. Prior to that, he served as Finance Manager of Central Arkansas Development Council, Director of Business Services at Ouachita Baptist University and Business Manager for University of Arkansas at Monticello.
White received his MBA from University of Arkansas at Little Rock and BA in Accounting from Ouachita Baptist University.
“What stood out from my interview was the level of dedication of the faculty and staff,” says White.
White and his wife, Leslie, have three children: Matthew (27), Rachel (24), and Mary Beth (24), all of whom have attended College of the Ouachitas.
